Recovery happens later
The whole point of account recovery is that you may need it after months or years. A temporary mailbox is designed for the opposite situation: limited lifetime and short-term use.
Expired mail cannot help
If the mailbox expires, a future recovery code or reset link may arrive after access has disappeared. That can turn a simple recovery step into a much harder account-access problem.
Use a stable recovery channel
For important accounts, choose an email address or recovery method that you control long term. Protect it with a strong password, multi-factor authentication where available, and up-to-date recovery information.
Use temporary mail only for low-risk accounts
If an account is genuinely disposable and contains no important information, a temporary address may be appropriate. Understand the consequences before choosing it.
Recovery is where temporary mail fails
Password recovery assumes that the recovery address will remain available when you need it. That assumption conflicts with the temporary nature of disposable mail.
A better pattern
Use temporary mail for an account you are comfortable abandoning. For anything you expect to keep, use a permanent address and a recovery method you control. If an existing account was originally created with a temporary address and has become important, update the email address before you lose access to the mailbox.
Recovery assumes the address will still exist
Password reset is a future event. Temporary email is a present-tense tool. Those two ideas conflict. If you set a disposable address as the recovery mailbox, the reset message may arrive after the inbox is gone.
Fix the mistake early
If you already attached a MailDroply address to an account you want to keep, change that account’s email to a permanent address while you can still log in. Add a second recovery method if the service offers one. Do not wait for a lockout.
Disposable accounts only
The only time temp mail is acceptable for “recovery” is when you are comfortable losing the account completely. Demo users, throwaway tests and one-time previews fit. Everything else belongs on a mailbox you own.

Responsible use reminder
Use a temporary email address only for short-lived, low-risk tasks. Do not use MailDroply for banking, account recovery, medical records, government services, passwords or other information you cannot afford to lose. Keep the same address while you wait for a message. If the account matters, switch to a permanent mailbox you control.
Two-factor is not a reason to use temp mail
Some users think an authenticator app makes the recovery mailbox irrelevant. Reset flows still email codes. Keep recovery channels durable even when two-factor is on.
