How Temporary Email Works

Create an address

MailDroply creates a short-lived mailbox with an email name, an expiry time and an internal browser access token. The visible email address is used for receiving mail; the browser token helps the current device return to its mailbox.

Receive messages

Incoming mail is accepted by the configured email infrastructure and passed to the MailDroply application. The application matches the recipient address to an active mailbox and stores the message for display.

Restore and expiry

The Restore page can help return to an active mailbox by email name. Restoration does not extend the mailbox lifetime. Once the mailbox expires, its messages are removed according to the published retention rules.

Use the right account

Temporary mail is for short-lived, low-risk tasks. Use a permanent, protected email account for important accounts, recovery, financial records, medical information and other long-term communication.
